Introduction
This project incorporates both of my main focuses in regards to teaching. The prompt is teaching students to read and annotate for the Philosophical field. This relates to introducing students to interdisciplinary writing. I feel that this should not only be done when they attend other classes but should be introduced in writing classes initially. These classes should not have to go in depth into every field of writing, but they should lay a foundation for the writers to be able to fall into different styles of writing with ease. Along with prompting students to concentrate on reading and annotating towards a specific discipline this project also allows students to work on their skills of invention. The students are asked to use the article and their summary of the article to think about a question the article has risen in their mind. This question will be used to spark their research projects at a later date. The project also lends itself to my philosophy of student driven writing. The students have several articles to choose from and from these articles there are thousands of questions that could be asked. The same article could be read by quite a few students and all of their research questions could vary greatly. The papers will be focused and yet there will be a variety about them that gives a student freedom. This would be the type of project that I would look forward to giving and receiving in a writing class.
